Tactisaddle began over 30 years ago with my first hunts out of a saddle. The only saddle available was the Anderson Tree Sling. It was the best saddle available and I killed deer using it! But I found myself making modifications to it. Finally I just decided to sew a saddle tailored to fit my body and needs. It worked so well that I started getting requests from friends and family members and I have been making saddles ever since.
Last year after my name started getting out there and many people asking me about my custom made tree saddles. It took about a year to acquire the commercial grade sewing machines, supplies, and perform enough testing to be able offer these for sale to other hunters. In 2019 Tactisaddle was born!
Today all Tactisaddles are made right here in my home shop and sewn by myself using mil-spec and industrial webbing (no elastic), with and my amazing family helping when they can. We are custom making these saddles to order and to the specifications and needs of each hunter.

1st year using a tree saddle and it’s definitely gonna be in my arsenal for the rest of my hunting career. I don’t believe I would have shot this buck if it wasn’t for a saddle, only tree I could get in was a small white birch literally only 6-7 feet off the ground, shot him at 10 yards. Best Saddle I have ever used! I have only dabbled with saddle hunting off and on for the last 20 years. I still spend most of my time in a Lone Wolf stand. BUT, I have been hunting with John Tucker (inventor of the Tactisaddle) for the last 25 years. I have watched him make over a dozen saddles trying to perfect them to his fast moving run and gun style of hunting, yet still allowing him shoot-ability and comfort for 12 hour sits.
This latest saddle John created and sent me (Tactisaddle Original) is simply amazing! the adjustable rump strap makes for superb comfort and also easily slides up for walking in and out of the stand so you don’t feel like you are wearing an annoying diaper! The quality of the material, stitching, and attention to detail is simply unbelievable, especially at his price point.
There are a lot of great saddles out there today. But I love the fact that Tactisaddle will custom make the saddle to fit your body and your needs or wants. This is truly a custom made saddle for you personally. Very proud of John and the fact that he has brought his knowledge and tools hes developed to the general public. Just wanted to say that I got your saddle promptly after we spoke. It is everything I thought it was going to be….light, easy to use and most importantly comfortable! It may look like it’s not but I sat in it many times so far and for extended periods of time at 20’ and I have had no issues. The best part is the adjustable “rump strap” no other saddle has this wonderful feature and that is what makes it so comfortable and easy to climb with. You can keep the leg straps on and climb the tree unencumbered. Also there is no sliding up your waist once you get settled in. Great design!
